09:42 pm - why i hate myspace and other ramblings

it seems that everyone is on myspace. live journal is tame. slightly more private... although still extremely public. 
i have a blog on myspace. i have tons of "subscribers" there have been something like 957 views to my  low maintenence blog. there are people that read my blog that never write in their own blog. i have had many people tell me things about myself that i had forgotten or never told them. this seems like an very surreal experience.
i am curious how this will change the face of the world.... people communicating so much about themselves without speaking to eachother. what a strange concept.
all the while i say this... to you... my other audience... as if you are the other friend i go to complain to.

splish splash, toga toga


yesterday was my sister's birthday. lots of fun. did the family thing during the day presents... i baked a cake with kewl wax letters/candles that read happy birthday... grandpa came along to lunch. then we just spent the day being lazy. ... then my sister and i suited up for a toga party... proceeded to get very very drunk... i think there's a joke in there somewhere about being 3 sheets to the wind but... you know... too obvious... came home and the pool looked nice so we jumped in... still toga-ed and shot off fireworks in the back yard... while eating chex from the cereal box... not one of my classiest moments... but it sure was fun. stupid. and fun. don't let this photo fool you...

01:00 am - a friendly reminder...

i talked to someone today that made me think i may be neglecting my lj friends.
i have been pouring all of my energy into my painting... my website... and my immediate cirlce of friends.

last night was my psuedo birthday. i had a low turnout due to several unforseen circumstances... but we still had fun! quality... not quantity. i can't remember how many drinks i had... so ... i think that means i had too much.

also... on a side note... any of you lj-ers who also happen to be my-space-ers... please send me a hello!

ok, lets see... i have been neglecting LJ. life is moving in fast forward again.
which is a good thing.
last weekend i went to the ballet at the ritz. it was a really great show. my favorite acts included... a 3 movement modern piece where the dancers wore spacesuit type clothing and did these orgy-esque group dances to acapella music. and... the last act where 5 dancers did a tappy number up and down stairs... it looked terribly scary... as an old leg breaker... but... was really beautifully choreographed.
i've been painting my heart out... i've made a few random friends that are modeling for me.
and re-connected with an old friend from highschool. it seems that when you the busiest... people come back into your life.

i need suggestions BAD for a hotel downtown that is in walking distance to either: a. a couple of gay bars or b. a few really good regular bars. ... i am planning my birthday shindig for this friday... and i will repost details... if you have any suggestions!!! please... let me know.

05:06 am - weekend recap

friday i was supposed to go to an amazing costume/dance party... but it was mysteriously cancelled... so instead i went all the way to ANOKA! to go to a country sports bar... the upside was getting free drinks from the cowboy patrons and dancing to the worst cover of brown eyed girl i've ever heard. i also want to insert bitching here about how NO FAST FOOD restaurants are ever open past 2 am! what's wrong with this state?
saturday i went to a costume party with j. we were wonderwoman and spiderman. i won 1st place in the costume contest and was snubbed by the other wonder woman that was at the same bar. my memories are vague... but i do remember running up to FRED of the scooby doo gang and throwing my arms around him exclaiming... OH FRED! IT'S YOU! i also stole some naughty nurses gloves that were covered in fake blood... and woke up with red spots all over my arms... i thought i caught some sort of disgusting skin disease... turns out it was just fake blood stains. all in all... a counter productive, fun filled weekend.
if i can get the photos off my phone to email to me i will post them soon.
tomorrow... i will get back to work, i promise... but now... peppermint bon bon ice cream and mcgyver!

well, i haven't really been updating... myspace is the new lj.
just like straight leg is the new bootcut. i know... i'm not comfortable with it either... so i am coming back for a visit.
i returned from vegas late monday night... and so far ... didn't accomplish much of anything. somehow i managed to let going to my sister's house to let the cable guy in... take up my whole day. the only thing i really did was paint tonight... and i am happy with what came of it... but too lazy to post the photos. besides... i left my camera in gianna's bedroom... somehow... so all i have is my vintage 1997 digital with the masking taped battery housing. it's not pretty... but it's sturdy-ish and still works.
highlights of my trip include: the amazing sushi buffet, dancing with juan... somehow a man 1/2 my size managed to do acrobatic lifts and dips... i don't actually remember all of this... i just have photos to prove it... that and the aching muscles..., exploring red rock canyon with jaime, getting yelled at by the asshole at bonnie springs ranch because he didn't want to have to put in our food order... because he was too busy, "the hangin'" at high noon outside the saloon, the trail ride, the italian men we met... roland didn't speak a word of english and lukas was interpreter..., the vegas wedding with the elvis-ish preist, pam and her blunt-ness, eROCKtica, dancing on the 51st floor of the rio hotel, 15 dollar drinks, sleeping with my head on the toilet in the afformentioned club while the bathroom attendant knocked on the door for half an hour saying "are you ok", guacamole made at the table!, spending time with jaime
